Old Mill School​ Principal Leaving For Los Gatos Position

The Mill Valley School District announced that ​Jason Deppong​ has been named the new principal of Lexington Elementary in Los Gatos​.

MILL VALLEY, CA — The principal of Old Mill School in Mill Valley is stepping down. The Mill Valley School District recently announced that Jason Deppong has been named the new principal of Lexington Elementary School in Los Gatos.

"Mr. Deppong is looking forward to returning to his roots in the district where he started his teaching career, and he will be serving as principal of an International Baccalaureate school," district officials said in an announcement. "Anyone who knows Mr. Deppong knows that this is a perfect fit for his skill set."

Deppong joined the Mill Valley community five years ago from Norway, according to the school district. He will remain available to Old Mill School staff and students through June 30.

"We are thankful for his dedicated work to develop balanced and globally-minded learners, and we wish him the best in his next steps," officials said.

The district has begun a nationwide search for Old Mill School's next leader. District officials encouraged staff, parents and students to provide feedback on the desired attributes of the next principal as part of the search process. Those interested can fill out this survey.

Panel interviews with staff members and parent representation will be held in early June, according to the district.

"We wish Mr. Deppong the best of luck in his next endeavor, and we are certain we will find an excellent new leader for Old Mill School," officials said.
