Women in Marin live to an average age of 85, according to a study by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.

Women in Marin County have one of the highest life expectancies in the country, living to an average age of 85, according to a study posted by KQED radio.

Researchers at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington compared counties across the nation, and also found that people in San Francisco boast one of the lowest obesity rates and are some of the fittest in the country.

In an interview with Anthony Iton, senior vice president of Healthy Communities at the California Endowment, and Dr. Ali Mokdad, professor of global health at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, KQED looks at how Bay Area counties compares, and talks about neighborhoods with poorer health that may be overshadowed by the study.
