Tense Standoff at Dog Park: Chihuahua vs. Gopher
Lots of staring. Lots of twitching. Lots of fun to watch.
The standoff was as tense as they come. It teetered on sweet friendship one second, then veered toward lethal violence. Heart rates were off the charts.
One day last week, a friendly gopher was teasing a 1-year-old rat terrier/chihuahua mix named Pico at Dogbone Meadows dog park in Novato. A small group of dog owners watched the staredown in amusement. In the end, everyone won — no animals were hurt and there were a lot of smiles.
