This morning, a traffic light on State Route 1 in Tam Junction was out of service. The outage caused significant back ups on Camino Alto and East Blithedale. This signal is under the jurisdiction of Caltrans and Marin County. Our contact at Caltrans states that the light is now operational.
Also, around 2 pm today there was a solo vehicle accident on westbound E. Blithedale near the Alto Shopping Center (Whole Foods). This contributed to the back ups on both Camino Alto and E. Blithedale.

Late this afternoon, we received a report that Tamalpais Community Service District has experienced a sewer main break, and repair work is being conducted along the stretch of Shoreline Highway that runs along Coyote Creek between Tennessee Valley Road and The Fireside.
A contractor has been hired for immediate repairs, but we have been told that work will continue into the afternoon tomorrow. We understand the frustration of Mill Valley community members experienced as a result of the traffic congestion and are working with our agency counter-parts to better inform the community and to get traffic moving again. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
Please plan ahead and give yourself extra time for travel today and tomorrow.
