3 Day San Jose Jazz Summer Fest Underway
Tens of thousands of attendees are expected, with more than 120 performances throughout the weekend on big and small stages.

SAN JOSE, CA — The San Jose Jazz Summer Fest begins this evening in Downtown San Jose, kicking off nearly 30 years of jazz, blues, R&B and funk celebration in the Bay Area.
Twelve stages will be scattered around Downtown with a diverse array of music, including blues, salsa and swing setups in addition to several sponsored stages.
Today will see headliners Confunkshun, Jane Monheit and Lalah Hathaway and Saturday will bring Yissy & Bandancha, Sarag McKenzie, the Barbara Morrison Quintet, Goapele and several others from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Kool & the Gang, Herb Alpert and Lani Hall and Marcus Roberts and the Modern Jazz Generation will perform Sunday. The festival will be centered around Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park, and will include more than 120 performances throughout the weekend on big and small stages.

Tens of thousands of attendees are expected, according to festival organizers, and several hotels and bars are participating in after-hours bar and restaurant crawls with no cover charges for festivalgoers.
Tickets are still available, and some ticket packages include parking at nearby garages.
