San Francisco 49er QB Jimmy Garoppolo made the injured reserve list from a tear in the ACL of his left knee from last week's game.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- It's official. The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday that starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has made the injured reserve list and third-string quarterback Nick Mullens has been placed on the roster.
The rookie out of the University of Southern Mississippi was selected as an undrafted free agent by the 49ers in May 2017. He will be backing up the squad based at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara to be led by C.J. Beathard.
Before his injury, Garoppolo started the first three games of the season, completing 53 of 89 passing attempts for 718 yards and five touchdowns. He was hurt scrambling to the sideline with the ball during the team's 38-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. It's unknown how long he's expected to be sidelined or his surgery plans.
