Crews Rescue Homeless Man Stranded By Creek
Storm runoff turned his refuge into an island surrounded by rushing water.

MILPITAS, CA — A transient was rescued from an island in Coyote Creek Thursday. The island is usually a peninsula that the man can walk out to, but rushing waters from storm runoff cut him off from the banks of the creek.
Both Milpitas and San Jose fire department crews participated in the rescue.
The man was stuck north of state highway 237 and west of McCarthy Ranch.
