
A magnitude 2.6 earthquake struck near East Foothills late Monday night, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor was reported at 10:53 p.m.
Residents around the area reported feeling the quake, including in Milpitas and San Jose. No damage or injuries have been reported as a result of the quake.
The East Bay has been plagued with hundreds of earthquakes for weeks. More than 540 earthquakes have been recorded in the area since mid-October.
