Do You Recognize This Package Thief?

Fremont police released surveillance video and photo stills of the suspect.

Fremont police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspected package thief.

According to the Fremont Police Department, on Monday officers learned of a petty theft that occurred at a home on the 48200 block of Sawleaf Street on Nov. 4.

The resident informed police that his home video surveillance camera captured footage of a suspect stealing a package from his front porch at 12:53 p.m. that day.

The suspect appears to be a black male between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2 with a medium build. He was wearing a beige baseball hat, a grey button-up shirt and tan pants, according to police.

In the footage, the suspect is seen pulling up in an older blue sedan, possibly a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier or similar vehicle, with damage to the passenger side, right front fender and hood. He exits the car carrying a large box as he walks up to the victim’s front porch. He then puts down the empty box and picks up two recently delivered packages containing computer parts before walking back to his car.
