Man Arrested For Attempted Assault with a Large Stick in Milpitas

Oakland resident Stephen Porter, 61, was arrested Saturday evening for attempting to assault a Milpitas resident.

Porter and the victim engaged in a verbal fight Sunday at 5:49 p.m. on the 2100 block of Mesa Verde, according to Milpitas Police Sgt. John Torrez. 

The fight revolved around a woman, although Torrez did not have additional details.

Porter then “swung a large stick at the victim,” according to Torrez.

He missed the victim, and was subsequently arrested for attempted assault with a deadly weapon.
