Milpitas Fire Explorers Graduate From State Fire Explorer Academy

Their days included physical training and conditioning, fire fighter skills and classroom learning.

MILPITAS, CA — Four Milpitas Explorers competed in the 44th California Fire Explorer Academy last month. This was the first time Milpitas Explorers participated in this event, teaming up with peers at other agencies from all over the state of California.

The four Explorers — Alberto Torres (Team Leader), Seth Brown, Lissette Heering, and Michael Heering —accomplished quite a week, starting each morning before the sun came up with physical training and conditioning, followed by fire fighter skills all day long, and ending their exhausting day with classroom instruction late into the evening.

Despite the tough morning wake up calls, the long hard days, and even longer evenings, they absolutely loved it. They made friendships that will last not only a lifetime, but it was also a networking experience for them to meet their future brothers and sisters they may work alongside of in their future careers.
