Milpitas Honored With Helen Putnam Award By League Of CA Cities
The city of Milpitas was given the award of excellence for its effective workforce development initiative.

MILPITAS, CA -- The city received the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence at the 2018 League of California Cities annual conference this month for its efforts in strengthening the city's workforce.
The Milpitas Workforce Development Initiative, which was launched in 2016, connects non-profits, schools and manufacturing companies.
The award was presented during the League's annual conference in Long Beach on Sept. 12.

"We are immensely honored by this statewide recognition," said Milpitas Vice Mayor Marsha Grilli, who accepted the award.
The Helen Putnam award was established in 1982 to recognize outstanding achievements among 482 cities.
