Milpitas Man Arrested for Copper Wire Theft

Craig Brayfield, 51, was arrested on suspicion of stealing copper wire from a residential backyard.

Last Saturday, Oct. 27, Milpitas Police arrested a man for trying to steal copper wire from a residential backyard, police reported this weekend.

At 1:20 a.m., a resident called to report someone trying to steal copper wire from his backyard, said Milpitas Police Sergeant Huy Tran. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and took Milpitas resident Craig Brayfield, 51, into custody.

The resident also identified Brayfield as the same person who stole copper wire from his backyard on several occasions, said Tran.

Brayfield was booked into Santa Clara Main Jail for grand theft of copper wire and prowling.
