Identity Released: Milpitas Woman Killed in Crash

She was killed early Monday in a wreck that impacted the morning commute.

MILPITAS, CA — A woman who died in a two-car crash in Milpitas early Monday morning has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 63-year-old Maria Foronda.

Foronda, a Milpitas resident, died in a crash reported at 5:53 a.m. at the intersection of North Milpitas Boulevard and Jacklin Road.

A Toyota Highlander and Toyota Camry collided and Foronda, who was driving one of the two cars, died at the scene, Milpitas police Sgt. Bryan Hinkley said.

The other driver suffered minor injuries and cooperated with investigators. Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation and Milpitas police are seeking anyone who may have witnessed it. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (408) 586-2400.
