Mission City VeteRun at Levi Stadium
Rotary Club of Santa Clara hosts inaugural 5k/10k/1.5k Run/Walk to benefit local veterans.

MILPITAS, CA - From Mission City Veterun: Sunday, August 6, 2017 will see the inaugural Mission City VeteRun at Levi's Stadium, with proceeds going to improve the lives of local veterans. This family friendly event has a distance for everyone: 10K run, 5K run/walk, 1.5 mile walk, and for the more adventurous amongst the ranks, the VeteRun Challenge which includes the 5K and 10K distances. The grand finish is a lap around the inside of Levi's Stadium.
"We employ many veterans here at Kaiser Permanente", says Chris Boyd, Area Manager and SVP for the Santa Clara Medical Center, "and it was an easy decision to become a sponsor of this event. We have several employees from our veterans association, KPVA, on the planning committee and it means so much to be an integral part of raising money for those who have served, yet need help with housing, medical benefits, counseling, and other services. It's simply vets helping their fellow vets."
This year's sponsors include Kaiser Permanente, The San Francisco 49ers, Saint Joseph Commandery, Ernst & Young, San Jose Sharks, and Rotary Club of Santa Clara.

President of Santa Clara Rotary Club, Joe Sweeney, says it's fundamental to their mission to improve the lives of those in the local community. "Veterans are a focus for many Rotary Clubs throughout the world and locally we see veterans amongst our membership and the companies they work for. We consider it an honor to raise money for the Veterans Supportive Services Agency (VSSA) and for the Homeless Veterans Rehabilitation Program (HVRP), to further their support of our veterans."
Registration is available online at www.missioncityveterun.com and signups will also be taken on the day of the race (see website for details of pricing).
