Santa Clara Money Flowing Into Water Projects
The grant funds come from the Safe, Clean Water and Flood Protection parcel tax approved by voters in 2012.

MILPITAS, CA -- The Santa Clara Valley Water District plans to award up to $100,000 in grant money for new and innovative water conservation programs and technologies in the coming months. The funding comes from the Safe, Clean Water and Natural Flood Protection parcel tax approved by voters in 2012. This is the fifth round of such grants.
The program is designed to encourage agencies and other organizations -- public, private and non-profit groups -- to do research projects related to water conservation. The goal is to help the water district save more than 32 billion gallons of water annually by 2030. The minimum grant will be $5,000, and the maximum $50,000.
A pre-proposal workshop will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Oct. 29 at the water district offices at 5750 Almaden Expressway, Room B-108 in San Jose. Grant proposals are due Dec. 7.
