Southwest Offers New Nonstop From San Jose To Cabo
Gotta Get Away? Get to the land of cervezas and margaritas faster on a nonstop flight.

SAN JOSE, CA — Southwest Airlines and San Jose city leaders celebrated an inaugural nonstop flight to Cabo San Lucas with festivities at Mineta San Jose International Airport on Saturday.
Airport and airline staff worked to decorate the gate area and get passengers involved in the excitement with bright photo booth frames, balloons and signs that said "Hola amigos" and "Viva Mexico."
The once-weekly Cabo flight will depart from San Jose each Saturday at 8:45 a.m. and return at 2:05 p.m., according to airport officials.

"We're thrilled to continue our 25-year partnership with Southwest Airlines by launching the carrier's first-ever international service from SJC to Cabo San Lucas, a top-requested destination by Silicon Valley travelers," airport director of aviation John Aitken said in a statement.

Southwest is Mineta San Jose International Airport's largest carrier with up to 92 nonstop departures offered daily. This was the first of 80 new weekly flights that is launching from San Jose this spring.

Alaska Airlines is another airline that offers a similar option with nonstop service to Cabo from San Jose with daily flights.
