MILPITAS (BCN) — A Starbucks cafe in Milpitas was temporarily closed today after a driver crashed her car into the front door this morning without injuring anyone, Milpitas police said.
Police were called at about 7:24 a.m. to the Starbucks at 1197 E. Calaveras Blvd. near Interstate Highway 680 about a vehicle that had smashed into the business, police said.
About five customers and five employees were in the coffee shop at the time but no one was injured, including the driver, a 59-year-old woman from Milpitas, police said.
The driver's car was a blue 2005 Honda Civic, police said.
"It went through the front door," said a Starbucks employee, who declined to be identified.
The car was towed away soon after the accident, the employee said.
Investigators could find no criminal wrongdoing and did not charge the driver, but the case remains open, police said.
The Starbucks was closed for repairs but had reopened as of this afternoon, a new shift employee said.
