Students at Merryhill Preschool Take Flight for Earth Day

Students celebrated Earth Day by releasing 100 butterflies in their schoolyard to help local vegetation

On April 22, students at Merryhill Preschool in San Jose celebrated Earth Day with a butterfly release. In honor of Earth Day and the importance of taking care of the planet, students released 100 butterflies throughout their schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Leading up to Earth Day, students observed caterpillars, their cocoon development and transformation into butterflies. Merryhill Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
