Suspect, 22, Arrested For Fatal Stabbing In Milpitas

The 54-year-old victim died from his injuries at a local hospital.

MILPITAS, CA — A 22-year-old Milpitas man was identified as the suspect arrested in connection with a stabbing Tuesday on the 100 block of North Temple Drive that claimed the life of a male, 54, according to authorities.

Jonathan Castellanos Herrera was found and arrested Tuesday at 4:06 p.m. near Del Vaile Court and North Hillview Drive, shortly after police were called to the stabbing on North Temple, the Milpitas Police Department said.

Officers responded to the North Temple address at 3:30 p.m. where they found the victim with at least one stab wound, performed life-saving measures, then rushed him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, the department said.

Herrera was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for suspicion of homicide and battery on an emergency medical technician.

The victim was not identified, and no details on motive or the relationship between the two men were provided.
