Young San Jose Murder Victim Identified
He was one of two people murdered in just over 24 hours last week.

SAN JOSE, CA — The victim of a fatal shooting in San Jose last week has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 22-year-old Jose Mejia Diaz.
Officers responded to a call at 8:47 p.m. on Dec. 27 in the 2500 block of Van Winkle Lane, where they found the victim had suffered at least one gunshot wound.
The San Jose resident was pronounced dead at the scene. Mejia's death was one of two homicides in just over 24 hours in San Jose, according to police.

Fernando Miramontez, 17, was fatally stabbed late Thursday night in the 200 block of Sunset Avenue.
No further details about the shooting of Mejia Diaz were immediately available.
