Candlelight Vigil Planned at Capo Sunday for Crash Victims

A note from CVHS boys' soccer coach Jason Sorrell.

EDITOR’S NOTE: At least two of the five fatalities in this morning’s crash on the I-5 in Irvine were members of the Capistrano Valley High School boys’ soccer team. The lone survivor is also thought to be an 11th grader on the team. Here is a note from CVHS coach Jason Sorrell:

We are all shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic event. The Capo community-- not just the soccer community--sends out their prayers to the family and friends of our teammates and the families and friends of the other young boys and girls in the accident. The Capo soccer community is a tight group of boys who are obviously devastated by this event and we will lean on each other and do our best to support the families in whatever capacity we can. There will be a vigil at 7 p.m. at Capo High School tomorrow to remember these fine young men.
