A community town hall event regarding bullying, addiction, teen behavior and internet safety will be hosted Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside the performing arts center at Capistrano Valley High School, 26301 Via Escolar, Mission Viejo.
A panel of experts will include state senator Lou Correa and Capistrano Unified School District board trustee Anna Bryson.
Here is a statement from Bryson:
“I fought to protect my children against the predatory drug culture as a young mother and continued that fight through my acting and modeling career where I witnessed countless tragedies.
"When I moved into the world of business, the distorted facts about drugs and the acceptance of drugs socially was an everyday problem. Many parents with large pharmaceutical chests present a substantial threat to their children’s safety too.
"Now as a Capistrano Unified School District trustee, I actively seek to help other families defend their children’s lives and futures. Knowledge is a powerful weapon in this war. The courage to be ‘different’ and ‘unique’ in a culture of ‘everyone is doing it’ is imperative if our children will surf through life unharmed. And the strength to be a parent and not a ‘best friend’ is critical.”
The California Treatment Advocacy Foundation and social network monitoring group ZABRA are hosting the event in combination with the CUSD.
