Wind Downs Tree Into Mission Viejo Lanes

A large eucalyptus tree fell across the road Friday, creating a traffic nightmare for drivers.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Drivers alerted authorities to a large downed tree on Jeronimo that halted traffic for about an hour.

"All westbound traffic on Jeronimo was closed at Montilla, as of 9 a.m." Mission Viejo Police Services said.

The eastbound lanes of Jeronimo were down to one lane, they said. MV City crews are on scene clearing a large downed tree.

Please use alternate routes until approximately 10 a.m., police said.
