Drug Walk, Spooky Campout and Family Tree Sleuthing

Here is a look ahead to events and happenings in Mission Viejo and Orange County for Monday, Oct. 14. 

  1. The annual Mission Viejo Walk Against Drugs turns 25 Saturday. Join hundreds of others in red shirts at Mission Viejo High at 8 a.m. to take part.
  2. Curious about your family tree? The Southern Orange County California Genealogical Society (SOCCGS) is hosting their annual Family History Seminar on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Saddleback Room near Mission Viejo City Hall. Learn more here.
  3. Have you ever wanted to camp out close to home? The city hosts its third-annual family campout Saturday night starting at 4 p.m. in the Oso Greens near the community center.
  4. The Shops at Mission Viejo are hosting a Halloween bash Saturday starting at 10 a.m. There will be games, crafts, candy and prizes.
  5. Wells Fargo on La Paz near the 5 Freeway hosts "Get Smart About Credit Day" Saturday. There will be interactive demonstrations to help you get a handle on your personal finances.
