This week The Melt will bring a high-tech bus to Trabuco Hills High, 27501 Cordova Road, from 5:30 to 8:30 Wednesday evening.
The melt boasts sandwiches like The Italian Job (fontina and provolone on garlic bread) and The Mission (pepper jack with jalapeño on sourdough). They use custom-made infra-red ovens to heat their sandwiches precisely.
Here are the trucks this week:
- Baby’s Badass Burgers Orange County: Burgers with such colorful names as “Original Beauty,” “Cougar,” “She’s Smokin’,” “The Other Woman” and “The Perfect 10.” Tantalized by that alone? “The Bombshell” is a half-pound of “maneater” meat between two bacon cheese melts and topped with grilled onions.
- The Melt Bus L.A.: Homemade soup, cane soda and grilled cheese sandwiches. This bus comes with a portable patio for easy seating.
- Chunk-n-Chip: Ice cream sandwiches with wild flavor combinations like the MOO-lan Rouge (red velvet cookie with white chocolate fudge) and the Cuba Libre (a snicker doodle sandwiching guava & goat cheese).
- Calbi BBQ: A Mexican food/Korean BBQ mashup in the Kogi style. Look for short rib tacos, kimchi quesadillas and tofu burritos.
- Crepes Bonaparte: Crepes, of course, both sweet and savory. The menu includes caprese, King Brie, and the Al Capone (fresh blackberries and sweetened mascarpone cheese topped with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle).
