Greenhouse Sale, Storytelling and a Chaotic Color Run

Here is a look ahead to events and happenings in Mission Viejo and Orange County for Nov. 18-24, 2013. 

  1. Saddleback College hosts itsannual greenhouse sale on Thursday and Friday at 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hanging baskets, cacti and succulent bowls, shrubs and more will be on sale.
  2. On Saturday, the South Coast Storytellers Guild will hostTellebration at City Hall, 200 Civic Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The guild will entertain with family-friendly spoken word tales with a fun, colorful variety of characters, music, audience participation exercise and cultural influences
  3. Local health care professionals will present information for adiabetes support group, which meets Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
  4. The Orange County Great Park will be home to the 2013 Run or Dye 5k Saturday at 8 a.m. This playful run encourages participants to splash each other with brightly colored dye as they make their way through various running courses. Individuals are charged $57. Teams of four or more are charged $52 per person.
  5. The Goddess Temple of Orange County hosts "Mystical Sounds of an Ancient Land: Tanbur & Tombak Duet" Saturday at 8 p.m. Cost is $40 per person.
