Children's Author Visits Mission Viejo Saturday

Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series of children's books, rolls into Oso Viejo Park in a chariot at 1:30 p.m. to promote "The Son of Neptune,'' the second book in his "The Heroes of Olympus'' series.

Fans are invited to dress in togas or as their favorite demigods. Crafts will include shield-making, dragon construction from egg shell cartons and bead necklace making. Oso Viejo Park is at 24932 Veterans Way.
