South County Gymnasts Win Big At Walk The Plank Invitational

South Orange County gymnasts from Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, San Clemente, and Mission Viejo competed in Temecula in the September event.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Olympica Gymnastics Academy Level 4 team competed at the "Walk the Plank" Invitational in Temecula, taking many podium finishes in the Sept. 22 meet.

Eight-year-old Teagan Blandford of San Clemente tied for silver on bars scoring an impressive 9.500.

Sasha PourTeimour of Mission Viejo earned the gold on vault (9.075), tied for silver on bars (9.400).

Sasha PourTeimour also tied for bronze on floor (9.400) in the nine-year-old division.

In the ten-year-old division, Adison Rusin of Laguna Niguel was the vault champion with a score of 9.275.

Teammate Reese Larson of Aliso Viejo

took home the bronze on bars, scoring a 9.350.

The Level 4 team’s combined efforts also earned them the third place team award at this meet.

"These young ladies will compete in Rancho Cucamonga over Oct. 5 and 6," Nicole Rusin, spokesperson for the gymnasts told Patch.
