If you saw three police cruisers speeding south Sunday night on Marguerite, chances are they were responding to someone threatening suicide off the Crown Valley bridge, authorities said Tuesday.
A jumper at Crown Valley and I-5 caused units to race down Marguerite with sirens blaring around 7:50 p.m., said Lt. Brad Newmyer with the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
But they were later called off as other deputies arrived sooner, he said.
A longtime resident who spotted the cruisers described the scene as being "like a car chase right out of the movies."
