Suspected Killer of Irvine Woman Arrested in Mission Viejo

Victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Suspect was arrested on Alicia Parkway.

A woman was shot to death in Irvine today in a cul-de-sac near University High School, and her suspected killer was arrested, police said.

Police responded to a call of shots fired at 2:10 p.m. on Via Siena near Amalfi Drive, said Lt. Julia Engen.

Police warned residents to lock their doors as officers searched the area for suspects.

Authorities did not immediately release information about the victim, the suspect or a possible motive.

Irvine Detectives deputies arrested the suspect at 23842 Alicia Parkway in Mission Viejo and took him back to Irvine police, authorities said.

Orange County Fire Authority paramedics tried to revive the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, said OCFA Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion.
