Crash Sends 3 To Hospital In Mission Viejo

Bad driving attributed to the crash where cars collided in Mission Viejo this afternoon, stalling traffic between Oso Parkway and La Paz.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A white Toyota minivan collided with a dark gray BMW four-door sedan in Mission Viejo Monday. Three were injured in the violent crash which occurred on Felipe Road and Hawk Hill at 1:45 p.m., according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi. The collision ripped the front off the BMW, and left the driver's side of the minivan smashed.

As of 3:15 p.m. traffic in the area between Oso Parkway and La Paz Road was still at a standstill as officers interviewed witnesses and conducted their investigation.

Two men in their 20’s and one woman in her late 40’s were all taken by ambulance to the hospital.

"The woman was taken as a trauma patient in moderate condition to Mission Hospital," Concialdi told Patch. "Fortunately all three were wearing their seat belts, otherwise they would have suffered more severe injuries due to the crash."

According to Mission Viejo Police Services alcohol, drugs were not suspected as a cause for the collision.
