What You Need to Know About the Wheelchair Tennis Masters in Mission Viejo.
The top 36 wheelchair tennis athletes are gearing up to compete in the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters Nov. 5-9.

The top 36 wheelchair tennis athletes are gearing up to compete in the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters Nov. 5-9 at Mission Viejo’s Marguerite Tennis Pavilion, 27474 Casta Del Sol. This is the second straight year the city of Mission Viejo will host the event. It is the only U.S. venue for the year-end championships.

The UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters tournament features the world’s greatest wheelchair tennis players competing for $60,000 in prize money. The top eight men’s doubles pairings, top six women’s doubles pairings and the top four quadriplegic doubles pairings make up the field for the year-end championship.

Along with incredible tennis action, the tournament will feature a host of events for all ages including a Family Day on Saturday, Nov. 8 and Environmental Awareness Day Sunday, Nov. 9.
Match play begins each day at 10 a.m. From Wednesday through Sunday, spectators will receive free $20 cash cards to the PGA Tour Superstore. During the finals on Sunday, fans will get a free baseball hat.

On Friday, Nov. 7, some of the best wheelchair tennis players will compete against able-body professionals from the UCI Men’s College Team in a light-hearted and extraordinary “Up/Down” showcase at 6:30 p.m.
The Nov. 8 Family Fun Day will feature face painting, a bounce house, tennis clinics for abled and disabled adults and kids, games and other activities by the Mission Viejo Family YMCA. The fun is from 2 to 5 p.m. About an hour later, the event will welcome the likes of tennis greats Roy Emerson, Bob Lutz, Dennis Ralston and Michael Chang during the “Legends of Tennis Recognition.”
On Sunday, Nov. 9, an exciting finals competition will round out the event, and spectators can also learn about conserving water and environmental awareness beginning at 10 a.m.
Tickets to the matches are NOT required Wednesday through Saturday and cost $5 for the finals on Sunday, Nov. 9. Folks can purchase them online at http://www.ticketbud.com or at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion.
