Detectives Suspect Monrovia Woman's Been Kidnapped

Police are asking residents to be on the lookout for a potential kidnapping victim and her suspected attacker.

MONROVIA, CA — Police suspect a Monrovia woman is in danger after being kidnapped by her abuser Monday morning. Authorities are asking for help finding the missing pair.

Amanda Kathleen Custer, 31, has been missing since about 8:15 a.m. Monday when police were called to her home in the 600 block of Vaquero Road to respond to a report of a domestic violence assault. When they arrived, they found an empty home and signs of a violent struggle, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Police suspect 27-year-old Robert Anthony Camou is behind her disappearance, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"Upon their arrival they located evidence that there was an apparent assault that had occurred," according to a sheriff's department statement. "Investigators believe the victim was kidnapped and taken against her will in a 2017 gray Toyota Prius, California license plate 8AOR167."

Camou is described as white, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and eyes. Custer is also white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts was urged to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
