Here's How Monrovia Employees Are Giving Back This Holiday Season

Monrovia city employees came together to give back to those in need by collecting and distributing food and toys, and more.

Monrovia employees not only donated items needed for the holidays, such as gifts and clothing, but also generously offered their time to provide rich experiences for the community.

Holiday Food Distribution

Together with the Foothill Unity Center, the Monrovia Police Officers’ Association participated in the Annual Thanksgiving Distribution where over 850 families received fresh produce and all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The City’s police chief, police captains and officers spent the morning filling shopping carts with canned and dry goods, escorting families around the venue to pick up fresh produce and a frozen turkey, then assisted families with loading their cars with the goods.

Project Angel

Partnering with the Foothill Unity Center, Monrovia employees participated in Project Angel. Beginning in the fall, adult clients of Foothill Unity Center registered their children to receive gifts for the holiday seasons. During the holidays, Monrovia employees adopted an angel and purchased the items in need including, new clothing, books and toys. This year, Monrovia employees donated over 200 items towards Project Angel!

From distributing Thanksgiving meals to collecting toys, the City of Monrovia is proud to have the opportunity to serve beyond our capacity during the holiday season.
