L.A. County Animal Shelters Hosting Adoptions, Laker Girls

Several animal shelters throughout L.A. County, including Baldwin Park, will hold a pet adoption fair on Saturday. The Laker Girls will also be making an appearance at select locations.

The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) will host a pet adoption fair in Baldwin Park, the shelter that serves Monrovia, and at other locations on Saturday.

To mark the agency's 75 years of existence, DACC will adopt its pets out for $19.37 (it was established in 1937, get it?). The event will go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., be held at the animal care and control center—located at 4275 N. Elton St.—and will include animal control displays, music, free refreshments and a history of the department.

Other adoption event locations include Agoura, Carson, Castaic, Downy and Lancaster. The Laker Girls will make a special appearance at the Downy and Carson animal and control center from 12-1:30 p.m.
