Missing Dog: Have You Seen Xena the Yorkie?

A 5-year-old Yorkie named Xena ran away from a Monrovia neighborhood last weekend and her owner is asking for help in finding the missing dog.

Owner Sara Trevino let Xena out early Saturday morning to urinate outside her home near Alamitas Avenue and Duarte Road and something scared her off, Trevino wrote in an email. The dog, a rescue, was wearing a pink sweater and requires medication for severe allergies. Her vocal cords were removed by her previous owner so she cannot bark, according to Trevino.

"I believe someone has picked her up and is keeping her," Trevino wrote. "All we want is Xena to be returned safely."
