Monrovia Area Partnership was established in 2006 as a community-based program based out of the city's Community Development Department's Business Services Division. The purpose of the partnership was founded to help "combat crime, blight and resident apathy" in the community by getting residents more engaged with local government, according to a statement from the city.
“[Monrovia Area Partnership’s mission is to increase civic engagement, strengthen relationships and build community,” the city said. “This is accomplished through resident assistance, neighborhood cultivation and community education.”
