Monrovia-Based Trader Joe's Recalls Ice Cream For Metal Contamination
Small pieces of metal may be in the product, the company said.

MONROVIA, CA — Monrovia-based Trader Joe's has voluntarily recalled a batch of Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream because of the potential presence of small metal pieces in the product, the company announced Saturday.
The affected ice cream was sold in 1-quart containers with the SKU# 055740. The company said no injuries have been reported to date.
All affected ice cream has been pulled off shelves and destroyed, Trader Joe's said, though the company did not disclose how many stores were affected by this. Trader Joe's has roughly 30 stores in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and 464 stores nationwide in 41 states and in Washington, D.C.

Customers who bought the ice cream were urged to discard or return it to stores for a refund. Customers may also contact the company at (626) 599-3817 for questions or concerns.
