The city of Monrovia could have a new city manager as soon as mid-February.
Interim City Manager Francis Delach gave a report Tuesday night at the Monrovia City Council meeting to update the community on the search.
The city has received 94 applications for the post.
"Out of those, we have a strong pool of what I call A-caliber candidates," Delach said.
The council members will meet at the end of next week to discuss the post, with an agreement expected to come before them for a vote next month.
Delach, a former Azusa city manager, came on board to serve as the interim for Monrovia in October.
He took over for former City Manager Laurie Lile, who retired.
