Monrovia Man Convicted Of Kidnapping, Assaulting 4 Women

MONROVIA, CA — A 43-year-old man from Monrovia was convicted Thursday of kidnapping and sexually assaulting four women after luring them by offering money or drugs, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.

Jason Chung Chien Yu was convicted of three counts of sodomy by use of force, two counts each of kidnapping to commit rape, assault to commit rape and false imprisonment and one count each of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and criminal threats.

When he was arrested two years ago, authorities said Yu lured women into his car by offering them money or drugs in exchange for having sex, took them to a motel and sexually assaulted them. Prosecutors said his victims ranged in age from 22 to 60.

He allegedly frequented areas in the San Gabriel Valley, including El Monte, Monterey Park and Temple City, as well as Lynwood, according to the sheriff's department.

According to the District Attorney's Office, Yu kidnapped one victim in February 2012 with the intent of raping her. In April 2016, he assaulted and sodomized two women. He kidnapped and sexually assaulted another woman in February 2017.

He faces life in prison when he is sentenced June 26.
