Online Auction To Benefit Garden And Food Education In Monrovia
The auction is being hosted by local nonprofit group Food Exploration and Discovery.
MONROVIA, CA — Food Exploration and Discovery is hosting an online auction in celebration of its first anniversary now through June 26.
Auction items include tickets to a Los Angeles Lakers game, a basket of baked goods and an electric scooter. Proceeds from the auction will be used toward supporting garden and food science programs at schools in Monrovia and across the San Gabriel Valley, the organization said.
Food Exploration and Discovery was founded in 2020 with the purpose of "collaborating with communities and schools to construct and sustain edible education sites hosting programs on ecosystem stewardship, healthy living and environmental innovation and entrepreneurship,” according to its website.

The organization has partnered with the Monrovia Unified School District to provide gardening and food education programs at Plymouth, Bradoaks and Monroe elementary schools as well as Santa Fe Middle School.
