MONROVIA, CA -- Set for Life is holding its annual Healthy Families for Life Fair and Expo this weekend at the Second Baptist Church in Monrovia.
The goal the fair is to educate ethnic minorities, such as African-Americans, Latinos and Asians, on how to live healthier lifestyles by providing medical screenings, interactive educational workshops, resources, and training, the group said.
"We hope to decrease the chronic illnesses and mortality rates among these populations by addressing the issues around obesity, mental illness, social and economic disparities and having open dialogues about risk factors and prevention," said Patricia Duff Tucker and Ariel Tolefree-Williams, Set for Life co-presidents, in a statement.
