SoCalGas Closing Up Shop in Monrovia

The closure will happen sometime after Sept. 1, the company says.

MONROVIA, CA — Southern California Gas Company will close its Monrovia branch office sometimes after Sept. 1, the company announced.

The closure was authorized by the California Public Utilities Commission because of the declining number of customers who use the branch and the high cost of service.

More and more people are conducting their business online and over the phone, the company said.

SoCalGas has already warned its customers of the change and also provided them with information on alternative methods to make payments and service arrangement.

The exact closure date will be announced at a later date. Customers with questions about the closure can call (800) 427-2200.
