Vacant Monrovia Movie Theater Gets A New LOOK
LOOK Dine-In Cinemas has taken over the former Studio Movie Grill site in Monrovia and is set to reopen the theater sometime in July.
MONROVIA, CA — Monrovia's Studio Movie Grill has remained empty throughout the pandemic but the theater will reopen soon under a new name, according to a report from the Pasadena Star-News.
LOOK Dine-In Cinemas bought the Monrovia location after Studio Movie Grill declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month. LOOK plans to reopen the 410 S. Myrtle Ave. location sometime next month, the paper reported.
Mayor Tom Adams told the Star-News he was optimistic about the theater's reopening and what that could mean for surrounding businesses, saying movie goers could potentially spend their money at nearby restaurants or shops in addition to seeing a film.

“We’re very hopeful that LOOK will be able to get that up and running pretty quickly, and we can get back going to the movies,” Mayor Adams said to the paper.
In addition to the Monrovia location, LOOK also purchased Studio Movie Grills in Downey, Glendale and Redlands.
