Elderly Man Killed in His Apartment Is Glendale's 1st Homicide of 2013
The victim may have been killed during a burglary, police say.
An 81-year-old man who apparently had been beaten in Glendale died at a hospital Monday, police said.
Authorities sent to to the 1800 block of West Glenoaks Boulevard about 5:30 a.m. found the injured man in an apartment, said Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz. The man's name was not immediately released.
According to the preliminary investigation, the apartment had been ransacked, and the crime may have been committed during a burglary, Lorenz said.
