Angeles National Forest Announces Seasonal Re-openings of Roads, Recreation Areas
Two roads and nine recreation sites open Friday and another site opens April 6.
The Angeles National Forest will have seasonal re-openings Friday of two roads and nine recreation sites for picnicking, hiking, and camping — several of which are within easy driving distance from the Montrose-LaCrescenta area, Angeles National Forest officials announced Thursday.
Areas to be re-opened are:
- Chilao Campground Manzanita Loop
- Chilao Picnic Area
- Charleton Picnic Area
- Eagles Roost Picnic Area
- Ridgecrest Picnic Area
- Vista Picnic Area
- Bandido Campground
- Coulter Campground
- Meadow Group Campground
In addition, Skyline Park at Mount Wilson will re-open April 6. The sites will be open until Nov. 15.

Road Openings
Forest officials are also re-opening the Santa Clara Divide Road between Angeles Christian Camp and the Alder Saddle gate. As a result, the road will also be open between Alder Saddle and Sulphur Springs gate.
