Brain Cancer Survivor Opens New CBD Store In Montrose

MONTROSE, CA — A local brain cancer survivor recently opened a new CBD store called CBD Comfort Zone in Montrose.

Stu Meyer was diagnosed with brain cancer nearly five years ago, his wife Debbi told Patch. Although he is fortunately cancer-free today, it was a long road to recovery and he found comfort in using CBD, she said. He spent nearly two years in treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation, that left him in debilitating pain that "truly undermined his quality of life," Debbi said.

"After trying every option, from opiates to acupuncture with little to no relief, he discovered CBD," she said. "Literally, he found a high quality CBD cream that he rubbed on his feet and like a miracle, his pain was gone."

Stu became passionate about CBD's medicinal benefits, but realized the marketplace is confusing and the products are often extremely expensive, she said.

After a year of doing research and sourcing organic products, he opened CBD Comfort Zone in September. CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is derived from the hemp plant but has no intoxicating effect. It is known to treat anxiety, pain, insomnia and more.

The store carries CBD gels, creams, oils, tea and more.

CBD Comfort Zone store hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
