Budget Issues Still a Concern for GCC
School leadership will have to focus on how to spend less.

Glendale Community College leadership is still figuring out ways to lessen spending in the school's 2013-14 budget plan, as evidenced by their recent announcement that about 100 open spots are going to stay that way, according to a story in the Glendale News-Press.
Among the issues facing the school are 5,000 wait-list students for classes and a shortfall of $4 million, the News-Press reports. To fight that, the school recently executed a cut to save half a million, but in doing so, reduced the work hours for 98 employees. Funding for the cheer program was also sliced.
