Quick action taken when a large broken tree branch, wrapped in wire, is found suspended above the Montrose Shopping Park, ready to drop.

It's not everyday that one looks up when walking. Thankfully on Saturday JACK ROCHER of the MONTROSE BARBER SHOP did and discovered this giant tree branch suspended above the sidewalk on Ocean View Blvd. The wires from the beautifully wrapped tree lights had a dual purpose this day. They were the only thing keeping the branch from falling on someone or something.

The amazing thing is how QUICKLY the CITY OF GLENDALE COMMUNITY SERVICES & PARKS got the problem taken care of and on a weekend no less! MSPA Business Services DALE DAWSON was called at home. He immediately called CHRIS PEPLOW, C of G Parks and Services Manager, who then called ARMEN TAGAKCHYAN (right), Park Operations Supervisor. In less than an hour a crew and two trucks were on the scene to remove the branch.

Ladder in place and tools in hand RICHIE TERRIQUEZ made quick work of untangling and pulling down the branch then handing it to ANTHONY SPENCER amid cheers and handclapping from those watching.

What a job! Way to go guys!

Jack Rocher (left) in front of the newly remodeled MONTROSE BARBER SHOP has been in town a long time. He was quite impressed at how quickly and expertly the situation was handled and resolved on this picturesque, busy sidewalk. What a great crew! Thank you City Of Glendale!
